We wanted to share the new action items that have been posted on  Please take a moment to email your legislators and sign the petition to protect the refugee resettlement program.  As always, please share this widely with your networks.

 ·        Take Action: Ask Your Legislator to Oppose Trump’s Executive Actions

AILA members should urge Congress to oppose the President’s executive order on immigration and stand in solidarity with immigrants.


·        Take Action: Protect the Refugee Resettlement Program

On January 25, 2017, President Donald Trump issued the first in a series of Executive Orders on border security, immigration enforcement, and the admission of refugees.  Sign the petition to protect the refugee resettlement program.

·        Take Action: Stand in Solidarity with Refugees
News outlets are reporting that President Trump is expected to sign an executive order limiting the flow of refugees into the United States and instituting “extreme vetting” today, Friday, January 27, at 4:30 pm EST at the Department of Defense.
